Stress & Resilience in the Workplace   

Stress is becoming an increasing problem within the modern workplace. Workplace stress places a massive economic burden on companies. The causes of workplace stress are often multifactorial. This course will help you to understand what stress is, how to identify early signs of stress and its negative consequences, it will then move on to tackle stress by building resilience both on an individual and on an organisational level.  This practically focused and engaging workshop will provide a holistic approach to stress management using a biopsychosocial model and target the various components of stress. 

Learning Objectives 

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:


  • Define stress in the context of a biopsychosocial model of health and wellbeing
  • Recognise the signs of stress both individually and within teams
  • Identify stressors within the workplace using HSE management standards
  • Use tools to measure stress within the workplace
  • Know the impact of stress in the workplace
  • Define resilience and its role in stress management
  • Know strategies to develop resilience individually and as an organisation
  • Explore personal and organisational approaches to workplace wellbeing

including relevant policies and legislation



   



 



  • Participants to complete a pre-course questionnaire outlining their strengths and weaknesses, prior training and what they would like to get out of the course.
